Ernst Cassirer

Ernst Cassirer (1874-1945) was a German philosopher, famous for many works in the history of philosophy and for developing a theory of symbolic forms – language, myth, religion, art, history, science. As one of the main exponents of the Marburg school of neo-Kantianism and as a specialist in the philosophy of physics and mathematics who was in constant dialogue with the scientists of his time his work builds a bridge between classical (German) philosophy and more modern threads of analytical philosophy.
